Reviews of purchase Friedrich Becker, "Steinwingert" Spatburgunder, Pfalz DQ, 2010, 1.5 L
Tasting Notes
Wine of intense ruby-red color.
The taste of wine is fresh, rich, pure, with a silky texture, shades of dried fruits, mushrooms and spices, excellent balance and a long aftertaste.
The refreshing, delicate aroma of wine is filled with beautiful, exquisite fruit and floral hues.
The wine is perfectly combined with dishes from red meat, veal, noodles with mushroom sauce, mature and semi-hard cheeses.
Interesting Facts
Friedrich Becker, "Steinwingert" Spatburgunder - elegant, very fresh wine of the highest quality, with exquisite aroma and silky taste. Grapes for wine production are grown in the Alsatian town of Weissenburg on the slope with a southern exposition. Heavy clay soils have calcareous subsoil. Harvest carefully collected by hand, sorted and pressed. The resulting must is fermented in open oak vats for two to three weeks. Then the wine is delicately pressed and matures in small oak barrels for 18 months. Before bottling "Steinningert" is not filtered and not clarified. Wine has an excellent storage potential of at least 15 years.
Producer's description
Friedrich Becker is a very brave man who at the dawn of his winemaking work broke with the parental tradition of cooperative farming and decided to produce his own wines. He became one of the best producers in the Palatinate, the best producer of the wine from Spetburgunder in Germany, for special merit in winemaking was included in the VDP (Union of German Wine Producers). Success was preceded by painstaking work to improve the quality of red wines. Friedrich systematically improved the old vineyards and laid new ones in areas with stony soil with calcareous subsoil. Part of the vineyard is on the Alsatian side, where you can produce German wines.
Today, together with the children of Fritz and Helena, Becker continues to work, adhering to his unmistakable style, and every year does more to convey their feelings to people.
