Wine is intense purple.
The taste of the wine is velvety, balanced, tannic, with notes of ripe red fruit and a long, sweet aftertaste.
The aroma of wine captivates with the tones of ripe red fruits and clear floral notes that perfectly blend in with the shades of oak.
The wine is perfectly combined with nourishing dishes from poultry meat, beef and mutton, and also with aged cheeses.
"Finca Sophenia" Reserve Malbec, 2013 - red dry wine made from the Malbek grapes, grown at the Finca Sophenia estate in the Tupungato area, on the slopes of the Andes, at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. The soils of vineyards are of alluvial origin, loose, with a highly permeable structure. When cultivating the vineyard, a special system of trimming and irrigation of the vines is used to obtain low yields of the highest quality. Harvest is collected exclusively by hand during April. The berries are carefully sorted and placed in the basket of the pneumatic press. Then followed by cold maceration, fermentation with the addition of selected yeast at a controlled temperature of 23-26 ° C and postmaceration. This technique gives the wine a rich color and tartness. Then "Finka Sofenia" Resverve Malbec is aged 10-12 months in French and American oak barrels. The potential of wine storage is 7-10 years.
Sophenia is a winery, recognized as one of the best quality wine producers in Argentina. Roberto Luca founded Sophenia in 1997, having named the company in honor of the daughter of his partner - Sofia, and his own daughter - Eugenia. Roberto Luca is an internationally recognized winemaker. He was the managing director of one of the main wine exporters of his country and the president of the wine association of Argentina.
To achieve his goals, Roberto Luca selected a site at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level, located on the slopes of the Andes mountains in the famous Tupunato area, where the best wines of Argentina are produced. Vineyards of the Sophia took more than 130 hectares of sandy and rocky soil, which has excellent drainage. The soil features, a cool climate, abundant sunshine and a sharp contrast between day and night temperatures provide the highest quality of grapes. Irrigation of vineyards is carried out due to the melting of glaciers from the Andes. The system that distributes water was structured to produce a small amount of harvest per hectare. From the cultivated grapes, complex, concentrated, fruit wines with high storage potential are obtained.
The result did not take long to wait, Sophenia's fault was appreciated by critics and connoisseurs of Europe, America and Asia. Wines started to be sold all over the world in 2004. Following the vision of Roberto Luca, Sophenia embodied his dream: to produce excellent wines in a truly unique "terroir" located in the foothills of the Andes. The modern winery Sophenia uses the latest French technologies associated with the processes of harvesting and vinification.
The wines of Sophia are regularly evaluated by such famous wine critics as "Wine Spectator", "Wine Enthusiast" and "The Wine Advocate", in recent years their ratings have never fallen below 90 points.
