Wine region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia is characterized by a multi-faceted landscape created from coastal plains, mountains and plateaus. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level on the terraces of the gently rolling hills that are ideal for the cultivation of viticulture. Bordering on Austria and Slovenia province is protected from cold winds and evil mountain peaks of the Alps, and the presence of the Adriatic Sea enables smooth and cool the hot summer temperatures, as well as to align the harsh winter swings. In this region, the important role played by fresh sea breezes that blow to the north (towards the hills) at dawn and returned to the south to the coast in the evening. This natural movement of air masses helps to reduce the spread of fungal diseases and allows the vines to grow up healthy. Precipitation has generally intense and short-term rather than long-term nature, which together with a bright sunny climate is perfect for ripening juicy and aromatic grapes.
The trademark owner Fantinel, Mario Fantinel previously contained several hotels and restaurants. Despite his success in this area, at one point, he was literally pulled to the ground, with the result that there was a family business Fantinel in Friuli. In the production of its wines, Mario continued to be guided by the same principle by which he had previously gained recognition in the hotel and restaurant business: absolute quality in every way! Mario sensitivity and attention to detail Fantinel allowed to produce wines with a unique and distinctive character.
