The wine is dark purple color with ruby highlights.

Ekus Carmenere refers to the classic lineup of wines Vina de Aras Pirke. This is one of the finest wines of Chile. Carmenere grapes for Ekus collected in May by hand from its own vineyards located in the Maipo Valley. 50% of the grapes is subjected to cold maceration for 5 days. Fermentation fault occurs in stainless steel tanks. After that, Ekus Carmenere aged for 9 months in French oak barrels. Carmenere wine Ekus awarded the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial in Brussels in 2006 and the Gold Medal at Vinalies Catad'or in 2009.

An interesting fact is that even the building winery Vina Haras de Pirque is shaped like a horseshoe! The history of Vina Haras de Pirque began as a joint venture between Eduardo Matte and the world-famous winemaker Marquis Antinori. Matte himself is a successful businessman, an avid horseman, who was once recognized as the best horse breeder in South America. When Chilean red wines began to become world-famous in the 90s of the last century, Matte became interested in a promising piece of land in the northwest of the Pirque region in the Maipo Valley. This area is unique due to its favorable climate.
Eduardo Matte founded the Vina Haras de Pirque estate with the goal of creating a first-class wine company and using the proceeds from the sale of wine to modernize the oldest horse breeding farm, which was founded in 1882. That is why on the label of the Equus wines we can see an image of one of the thoroughbred racehorses, which has won many victories in competitions around the world. It is interesting that even the building of the Vina Haras de Pirque winery has the shape of a horseshoe! Thus, thanks to E. Matte's love for horses and his passion for equestrian sports, the world received amazing wines that combine high quality and a very reasonable price. Today, it is at the winery in Maipo that the best Chilean wines are created, famous for their powerful and juicy taste, which they receive from young Chardonnay, Syrah, Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon grape vines.
In July 2017, the Tuscan Antinori family bought the entire stake in the Chilean winery Haras de Pirque in the Maipo Valley. The winery now has more than 100 hectares of prime vineyards, and we can expect further improvements in quality, because whenever Antinori is at the helm, great things happen, whether in Italy, Hungary or Chile.
