Winery Dr. Buerklin-Wolf is one of the most respected and renowned in the Palatinate region. It has a long tradition, leading its history since 1597. One of the founders of the economy was Bernhard Byurklin, the mayor of Wachenheim in the early XVII century. He acquired large areas for vineyards, which ushered in the family business. The second founder - Johann Ludwig Wolf, a wealthy citizen of the Palatinate of the first half of the XIX century, a host of superb vineyards in Wachenheim, Forst, Deidesheim and ruppertsberg. In 1875 the two families joined together when the granddaughter and heiress Louise Wolff married Dr. Albert Byurklina. The name of the winery since then are the names of both families.
Vineyards farms now occupy more than 90 hectares, on which "reigns", revealing its full potential, Riesling. However, there are other varieties, including a sufficient number of red grapes (Pinot Noir).
