"El Primer Paso", 2012 - is a young, but very seductive wine, created from grapes Tinta de Toro, hand-picked from old vines. 40% of the vines have an impressive age of 45 years, 60% - from 15 to 40 years. Organic viticulture, unique terroir Toro and painstaking care of the old vines were key to the birth of wine, capable of hitting its purity, intensity unmatched flavor and balanced, pronounced fruit and spicy taste. The grapes are harvested in small 12-kg boxes in the morning, from 8 to 14 hours, after which it is transported to the winery where carefully sorted and then sent to a cold maceration lasting two or three days. Wine fermentation at a temperature 28-32 ° C is carried out in a small stainless steel tanks or concrete tanks. Excerpt place in barrels of French and American oak for 6 months. During this time, tannic structure is softened, filled with fragrance notes of tobacco and spices, and the taste gets the power, complexity, elegance. The winery Dominio del Bendito was founded in 2004 by a young winemaker from France Antoine terrine. His main passion and dream was to find the perfect vineyard capable of producing crops for wines with great strength and character. To this end, he has visited Chile, Portugal, the US Pacific Coast, but he was able to carry out the plan only in old Europe - a beautiful, desert, ancient land of Toro, in the Spanish region of Castilla y Leon. Founded winery here immediately got its name - "Bendito", which translated from Spanish means "blessed, blessed." To date, Antoine terrine owned 13 acres of superb vineyards, vines have some very respectable age - more than 100 years. 80% of the vineyards are planted with vines older than 45 years, and the rest - vines from 14 to 30 years. Healthy, dry soil of the region allows to grow grapes organically, without the use of artificial irrigation or chemicals. The high content of sand and gravel provides good drainage. The root system is well developed vines and letting deep into the soil to absorb the most vital minerals and guilt give high quality and expression of terroir. Here is dominated by a dry continental climate with cold winters and hot, dry summers, but also felt the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. The vineyards are grown at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, which allows the berries to reach full maturity, while maintaining excellent freshness, fruit and high acidity.
