Reviews of purchase Domaine Michel and Stephane Ogier, "La Belle Helene", Cote-Rotie AOC, 2013, wooden box, 1.5 L
Wine opaque dark magenta.
Colorful mineral taste of the wine shows its depth and power in shades of black berries, spicy spices, coffee and truffles. The wine finishes with a rounded, velvety, almost endless aftertaste.
Bright, exuberant aroma of wine is made up of fruit notes of black cherry, blackberry, licorice and gummy wood and smoky notes.
The wine is excellent in combination with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
(Robert M. Parker, "The World's Greatest Wine Estates", 2005).
"La Belle Helene" (French for "Beautiful Helen") - one of the best wines Domain Michel and Stephane Ogier named in honor of a charming wife and the mother of Stephen Michel Ogier. Cuvée "La Belle Helene" is made of selected grape varieties Syrah, grown only in the region of Côte Rozier in Cote Brune. Average age of the vines is 65 years. The wine has taken its place in the prestigious list of "Wine Spectator Selections" in the section "Collectibles" ("Fine Wines"). Quote from the original bottle back label: "This cuvee - the result of a rigorous selection of fruit from old vines Syrah grown on site Cote-Rozier. This Cote-Rotie, intended for storage in the cellar, is extremely dense and wealth", - Stephane Ogier.

The vineyards are located in six different parts of the Cote-Rotie - it's the world famous But de Mont, Lancement, Cote-Rozier, Champon, Besset, Serine, 3 hectares of which are located in the best areas (60% for Cote Blonde, 40% - on the Cote Brune).

Controlled economy father - Michel Ogier and his 30-year-old son Stefan - a graduate of the famous School of Oenology in Bonn. Gradually, thanks to its great knowledge and talent, Stephen became a recognized winemaker, and took over almost the entire leadership of the economy. In wine domain fields currently reducing the use of chemical agents and herbicides. Gradually planned to completely abandon the processing chemicals. For example, to date, the area on the Cote-Rozier, a crop that produces the best cuvee domain, - "La Belle Helene", is handled entirely without herbicides. Also being monitored constantly yielding vines; if necessary, remove excess bunches (producing so-called "green fee").
