Reviews of purchase Domaine Jacques Prieur, Meursault-Santenots Premier Cru, 2014
Wine brilliant greenish-gold color with a silvery hue.
The wine has a very attractive, crisp and spicy taste with great minerality and creamy texture, which captured the tone of crispy rolls. The finish is long and slightly salty.
Aromatic bouquet of wine - expressive and complex, with hints of acacia flowers, greenery (ferns, mint), and anise.
The wine goes well with fish dishes, seafood, white meat poultry, and soft cheeses.
Domaine Jacques Prieur, Meursault-Santenots Premier Cru, 2011 - a dry white wine with a very expressive aroma, breathtaking color and crispy, spicy taste with mineral nuances. The wine is made from grapes of Chardonnay, which grows in the vineyard Premier Cru "Santenots", which occupies a small area of 0.25 hectares. Vintage 2011 has matured very early. Early winter was quite mild and dry. Warm spring days to take effect from the end of March. Kidneys began to blossom in early April. Compared to previous years, namely between 1994 and 2010, they were dismissed earlier for three weeks. Starting from the end of March the weather was dry and very warm. This has stimulated a very rapid flowering vine. After July 14 the weather conditions have changed dramatically. Started raining, the temperature dropped. Ripening harvest began in late August and lasted until mid-September. The grapes ripened very quickly thanks to dry, sunny and very warm weather this period. Harvested by hand in small containers. After pressing the grapes cooled and kept in the cold for 12-14 hours. Fermentation, malolactic fermentation and aging of wine for 20 months took place in oak barrels.

All the vineyards are processed in accordance with the principles of organic farming. Grapes from each plot vinified separately to preserve all of the unique characteristics. Today Domain manages Jean-Pierre La Bruyere La Bruyere and Edward, as well as Martin Priёr. Domain is a highly respected winemaker Nadine Gyublen, received in 1997 the title of "Winemaker of the Year" from the "Revue du Vin de France".
Martin Priёr determines the winery philosophy as follows: "... The quality of wine depends largely on the quality of grapes: only ripe and healthy berries can have a truly great wine. ... Last time we practice the so-called method of viticulture raisonnee (reasonable viticulture) which, in conjunction with the biodynamic method has allowed us to achieve an optimal balance between the produced wines and grapes are grown.
