Interesting Facts
White wine Meursault "Clos de Mazeray" from Domaine Jacques Prieur is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyard, which is a private monopoly economy. The vineyard is surrounded by an old stone wall, located on the outskirts of the village of Meursault on the site of an ancient river bed on the clay-limestone soil. The vineyard was created by the hands of monks from the monastery of Citeaux, located nearby. Since ancient times, are produced excellent red and white wines. For the production of wine "Meursault Clos de Mazere" the grapes are harvested by hand, then the entire bunches are placed in pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation and aging of wine in oak barrels are held, of which 30% - new. The wine undergoes a secondary malolactic fermentation and then aged for 18 months and then bottled in traditional Burgundy bottles. The wine is ready to drink, and can be stored for 6-7 years after bottling.

Martin Priёr determines the winery philosophy as follows: "... The quality of wine depends largely on the quality of grapes: only ripe and healthy berries can have a truly great wine. ... Last time we practice the so-called method of viticulture raisonnee (reasonable viticulture) which, in conjunction with the biodynamic method has allowed us to achieve an optimal balance between the produced wines and grapes are grown.
