Trading house Ruinart is the first and oldest producer of sparkling wine. Ruinart House has a very long history. Benedictine monk Thierry Ruinart, traveling around Europe, noticed a great interest in champagne from the aristocracy. Legend has it that he studied the production of champagnes at the Dom Perignon. Thierry Ruinard passed on his knowledge to his brother, who opened this business with his son Nicolas Ruinard. The official founding date of the House of Ruinart is 1729. Very quickly, Ruinart champagne became popular not only in France, but also abroad. At the beginning of the 18th century, the next representative of the family, Claude Ruinard de Brimont, opened representative offices in Belgium, Germany, England, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Russia.
