Reviews of purchase "Destalo" White, Vinho Verde DOC, 2020
The wine is light golden-greenish in color.
The taste of the wine is light, fresh, energetic, slightly effervescent, with citrus, floral and mineral notes.
In the fresh aroma of the wine, bright lemon accents and notes of green apple are felt.
It is recommended to chill the wine for 2-3 hours before serving. Due to the light sparkling characteristic of Vinho Verde, the wine goes well with a wide range of dishes: with fish, poultry, white meat, seafood, shellfish, crayfish, vegetables, light salads, sushi, sashimi and Asian cuisine.
The label of semi-dry white wine "Destalo" White, Vinho Verde DOC depicts an otter with a glass of wine. The otter is perfectly adapted to its habitat and microclimate, it is perfectly oriented among valleys, rivers, mountains. The cool otter depicted on the label personifies the surrounding nature, without which a light, fresh, slightly playful Vinho Verde would have been impossible.
The wine is made from a blend of grapes of the autochthonous Portuguese varieties - Arinto, Loureiro and Trajadura. Each variety brings its own flavor to the overall blend. Arinto gives lightness, youth, brightness, citrus notes and mineral complexity. Trajadura is a typical Iberian variety, it gives energy, even some daring taste and notes of peach, apricot, fragrant ripe pear. The noble Loureiro harmonizes and softens the blend, giving it aristocratic touches of fresh orange and linden blossom.
The Prodneris portfolio includes two areas: wine production and marketing (Destalo brand) and olive products (Olivus Floris brand). High quality extra virgin olive oil, herbal and spiced olive oil, pitted olives and olive tapenades are produced under strict standards control, without chemicals, solvents, flavors or colors.
Under the wine brand "Destalo" young wines are produced, the grapes for which are grown and harvested by hand in the Vinho Verde region. It is a region with predominantly granite soils, a temperate climate, sea winds, high rainfall and a strong influence from the Atlantic coast. The name of the Portuguese region translates as "green wine" and the category of color here has a metaphorical meaning - "young, young". The wines of this wine-growing area are known for their bright acidity, fresh taste with a little carbonation. Natural light sparkling wine is formed as a result of malolactic fermentation, which continues in the bottle after bottling.
Wine "Vinho Verde" is only in Portugal and nowhere else in the world. This unusually fresh, light wine with a low alcohol content is best enjoyed young (a year or two after bottling). Each Vinho Verde bottle is unique. Literally, it is unique, as it has an individual serial number, confirming its quality and compliance with the requirements of the Commission of the Region of Vinho Verde.
