Reviews of purchase Dauvergne Ranvier, Cote-Rotie "Grand Vin" AOP
Wine brilliant moderately crimson color.
Beautiful wine with a precise and stable taste, velvety texture and rounded finale.
The rich aroma of the wine is represented by notes of black currant, licorice root and violet petals, complemented by nuances of vanilla pod, iris and smoke.
This elegant wine perfectly emphasizes the taste of game (for example, pheasant with truffle sauce), spicy or pepper beef, lamb shoulder.
Red dry wine Dauvergne Ranvier, Cote-Rotie "Vin Rare" AOP is made from Syrah grapes grown in Cote Rotie. Very steep terraces of vineyards are located at an altitude of 180-325 meters above sea level. The soils of the plots are granite with a siliceous-limestone or clayey (with inclusions of iron oxide) upper layer.
Harvest exceptionally healthy and ripe berries are harvested by hand. Cold maceration, preceding fermentation, takes place in small cement tanks. Wine is aged for more than 12 months in oak barrels. Wine corked with natural cork, made from high-quality wood cork. Wine has been repeatedly praised by the famous wine guide Le Guide Hachette des Vins.
Each of the wines of the company Dauvergne Ranvier fully reflects the features of the appellation, but at the same time preserves the spirit of the family of winemakers. So it turns out a kind of mix of terroirs and the special sensitivity of winemakers, which every time makes them in the difficult choice between power and refinement prefer the second. This family feature is also manifested in the variety of vintages presented either by the classic line ("vin gourmands", "grands vins", "vins rares"), or by the specialized series "Sélections Parcellaires".
The “Vins Gourmands” series is distinguished by rounded tannins and the ability to convey the best natural fruit flavors. Wines of this series are recommended to be consumed young. More concentrated wine line "Grands Vins" can be stored without loss of quality for many years. And, in conclusion, the wines of the “Vin Rare” series, as the name suggests, are produced only in the year of the best harvest and are produced in very limited editions. The wines of the specialized publication "Sélections Parcellaires" are intended for great restaurants and wine merchants. The peculiarity of these wines lies in the bright individuality and strong character, which are determined by the place of origin, high concentration and precise dosing of sulfur dioxide. Sometimes wines labeled with Dauvergne Ranvier do not go on sale at all because the company values its reputation too much.
In 2013, the winery acquired its own vineyards, taking control of the old family estate Domaine des Muretins. The farm of 10 hectares includes several plots in Tavel and Lyrac communes. The plots are an exceptionally interesting mosaic of diverse and high-quality terroirs. Between 2013 and 2015, the company carried out a complete restructuring of these vineyards, and today it boasts two excellent cuvees, one from Tavel, the second from Lirak.
