Producer's description
Chateau Talbot has a rich history. Its name comes from Constable Talbot, a famous English commander, governor of the city of Guyenne, who became famous in the battle of Castiglion in 1453. In 1855, during the classification carried out on the orders of Emperor Napoleon III, Château Talbot takes fourth place in Saint-Julien. For several decades it belonged to the Marquis Aux. In 1917, the Chateau acquired Desiree Cordier. Under the leadership of the Cordier family, Château Talbot has become one of the most famous in the Bordeaux region. Today, Chateau, whose vineyards occupy more than one hundred hectares, is headed by Lorraine Cordier and Nancy Bignon-Cordier, who preserve the traditions and innovations of previous generations. The estate has two cellars: the first was refurbished in 1989 and is filled with wooden barrels typical of times past, while the second is equipped with temperature computers and stainless steel barrels.
Château Talbot is one of the most famous wines of Saint Julien. It is characterized by a generous bouquet, stability and reliability in the aging process, silky, soft and very civilized tannins. Every year the harvest brings different grapes, its quality depends on the age of the vines, on the composition of each patch of soil, and on the weather. But from year to year the main task of Chateau Talbot winemakers is the search for perfect quality.
