Producer's description
The estate of Monteverano was the result of a bold experiment by a group of friends united by a love of wine that began with the legendary Bordeaux wines of the time. The basis for the creation of the winery was an old farm, once owned by the Bourbons and bought out in the 40s. Fruit, nuts, wine and oil were produced here exclusively for the needs of the family. In 1985, about two hectares of land were allocated for planting Aglianico Taurasi, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. And in 1991, the first bottles of wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Aglianico (30%) were released. They were intended only for a narrow circle of friends. But, to everyone's surprise, the wine exceeded all expectations. Then old friends Silvia Imparato and Ricardo Cotarella, who headed the company, as a result of experiments, found the ideal blend formula: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Aglianico Taurasi (10%). Since then, the wine "Montevetrano" occupies a leading position in the rankings.
Montevetrano today is a small but well-established company that produces its wine in a limited edition (only 30,000 bottles are produced per year) and exports it around the world. The company values customer relationships very much. Therefore, careful control over each bottle is an essential condition for production. Quality is given special attention from the very first day of wine production.
