Reviews of purchase Clos Mogador, "Nelin", Priorat DOQ, 2016
The wine is golden straw color.
Graceful, delicate taste of wine with a well balanced and pleasantly refreshing acidity reveals light floral motifs.
Intense, complex, seductive bouquet filled with sweet aromas of peach, apricot, lychee and pink grapefruit decorated with notes of honey, flowers and minerals.
The wine will be perfect with a pair of tapas, fish sauce, foie gras, soft cheeses and Asian cuisine (Indian, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese).
"White wine with two souls" - the so-called "Nelin" its creator, Rene Barbier. Indeed, in this original white dry wine harmoniously combines male and female characters. To create a "Nelin" used berries grown in the same vineyard, which consists of four plots with a total area of about 10 hectares. Vines, whose age ranges from 10 to 30 years, grow on the sunlit mountain terraces and give low yields of high quality grapes. Cut manually bunches arrive at the winery, where the grapes before pressing made careful control of berries. Alcoholic fermentation of wort is carried out in oak barrels, steel and concrete tanks. The wine is aged on the lees takes about 9 months.
Clos Mogador farm owner, Rene Barbier, known for the fact that he restored to life the ancient vineyards of Priorat. Winery is located not far from the town of Gratallops, its vineyards occupy 13 hectares. Local soil rather loose and not very suitable for cultivation, but Rene Barbier hard caring for tens of thousands of vines, making vineyards provide excellent crop that is harvested by hand.
