Wine of deep ruby color.
In a soft, fresh tannins and good acidity taste of wine in the foreground - fruity notes. The decoration - hints of spice, pepper and oak.
The aroma of wine is dominated by fruit flavors of cherry, red currant, raspberry jam and wood.
The wine goes well with meat dishes, game and cheeses.
"Chryseia" - a relatively new product in the company "Prats and Symington." For the first time the wine was produced in 1999. Name "Chryseia" in Greek means "gold". This wine symbolizes the union of Portuguese tradition and Bordeaux to create a new modern style of wine.
The grapes for "Chryseia", 2006 was going to Quinta da Vila Velha, Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta do Vesuvio. 261,000 kg of grapes, only 16% were selected for "Kriseya." Spring 2006 was warm and sunny, but parts of the castle at night broke a number of vineyards, was seriously injured Quinta da Perdis. In July there was a heat of 40 degrees, which was compensated by the August mild but frequent rains. As a result, the grapes ripened early, got a good maturity and concentration. Collection began on September 15 Vila Velha and ended on 25 September at the Quinta do Vesuvio, the grapes are harvested by hand. Aged in new French oak barrels in specially constructed underground cellars gives the wine a discreet but clear wood shades. To prevent excessive woody scents that can upset the balance and elegance of the wine extract "Chryseia" is allowed only for a short period of time - from 8 to 12 months - depending on the year. Wine "Chryseia 2006" held for 10 months.
Wine critic Robert Parker wrote about this wine: "A little compact, but a living, elegance and accuracy, wine Chryseia works well in the context of the vintage." The wine has excellent potential exposure - up to 2017, and as they grow older, it will only get better, fully revealing its character.
