Wine pure ruby-red color.
The wine has a soft rounded taste with well integrated tannins. Long aftertaste has a special flavor.
In a rich fruity flavor wine woven soft shades of blackberry and black currant.
The wine goes well with red meat, poultry and veal dishes.
Interesting Facts
Half a century ago, the family Gourgues acquired in Bordeaux a few acres of land. Currently owned Chateau de GURGEN 25.5 hectares. Part - 4.5 hectares - is located in the Entre Deux Mers AOC, where the grapes are grown for the white wines. Red varieties are grown in the vineyard area of 21 hectares, located in Bordeaux AOC stony clay-limestone soils. Here is grown 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec. Chateau de GURGEN produces 47,000 bottles of red wine a year and 7,000 bottles of white and rose wine.
Cheval Quancard - a company founded in 1844 by a man named Pierre Kankar having curiosity and desire to learn and explore new things. These qualities later became a kind of "philosophical thread" of the company. This is evidenced by the perfect Pierre spontaneous riding trip along the Gironde to study the work of the surrounding wineries.
Two sons, Pierre Kankara inherited from the father of these qualities. Evzen once went on a trip around the world to learn new technologies and bring fresh ideas to the family business, and his brother John, meanwhile, kept his father created a winery. Since 1968, the family is actively expanding their land holdings. Today the company "Cheval Quancard" manages grandson Evzhena - Roland.
