Reviews of purchase Chateau Roubine, "Lion & Dragon" Rose, 2016
Tasting Notes
The wine is light orange with light gray-silvery reflections.
The taste of wine is exquisite, beautifully structured, fresh, complex, slightly harsh, with bright lemon tints, well integrated hops and wood notes and a long, expressive aftertaste.
The intense aroma of wine is revealed by the tones of citrus fruits, orange peel, dried flowers and Provencal herbs. After aeration, the aroma is enriched with smoky and mineral notes and nuances of stellate anise.
The wine is perfectly combined with white meat, fried red mullet, lamb with garlic, duck, Roquefort cheese.
Interesting Facts
The wines of the "Lion & Dragon" line are a reflection of the terroir and know-how of Chateau Rubin. The Chateau is located between the cities of Lorge and Draguignan, whose emblems are, respectively, the Lion and the Dragon - hence the name of the ruler. For the production of "Lion & Dragon" wines, the most interesting grape varieties from the most beautiful areas are carefully selected. The age of the vines of some varieties reaches 80 years. All wines after fermentation are kept in oak barrels.
"The Lion and the Dragon" Rose is made from grapes of varieties Grenache, Tiburen, Murvedr and Role. Harvest is harvested in the early morning and stored in a cold room at a temperature of up to 1 ° C. After cooling, the berries are selected on a sorting table and sent to the press, where the film maceration occurs during the day. This very long cold pink maceration for pink wine allows you to extract the aroma and taste of grapes as much as possible without using color. The resulting grape juice is decanted at a low temperature and fermented in thermoregulated vats. The aging of wine lasts 6 months.
The Chateau Rubin Estate is in the heart of Provence and is one of the oldest wineries in all of France. The first mention of it dates back to the XIV century: then, in 1307, the Templars transferred these lands to the possession of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Being an important strategic point, this estate also attracted many pilgrims and travelers for centuries through its beauty. In 1953, the Ministry of Agriculture assigned the classification to the lands "Crewe Class". The history of the vineyard is represented on the arms of the Templars - the dragon symbolizes the city of Draguignan, the Leo - the city of Lorge, and the sun's rays of Provence protect these lands. Today the owner of the estate - Madame Roussel-Ribot and her team extracts from this terroir a maximum, to create fine wines with a world reputation. On 320 acres with a beautiful exposition and clay-limestone soil today grows 13 varieties of grapes. At the heart of the producers' work is an environmentally friendly approach, respect for nature is the key principle - in 2008 Chateau Rubin was awarded the "Agriculture Raisonnee" certificate for responsible business in relation to nature.
