Beautiful purple color with purple hue on the edge of the glass.
Elegant Chateau Malmaison 2004 shows intense, but at the same time soft, perfectly balanced taste. The bouquet on the background of a well-integrated tannins reveal juicy tones of cherries, cassis and oak.
The delicate fragrance opens with fresh notes of cherry and blackcurrant, which after aeration join shades of oak and light notes of licorice.
The wine goes well with grilled meat, roast lamb, game birds, as well as ham and cheese.
Interesting Facts
Manor Chateau Malmaison is located in a small wine region Muli and is one of the oldest in the Medoc. The first vineyards were defeated here in the Middle Ages, and only in 1973 they acquired the Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who restored the estate to its former glory. At the time of purchase chateau is in complete disrepair, so from 1974 to 1978, the vineyards were planted with new vines of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). It is the predominance of Merlot in the blend and gives the wine Château Malmaison soft and delicious fruit tones. Like all wines Rothschild, it is created with a special concern for the quality: the grapes are harvested by hand literally berries several times during the season, and then carefully sorted manually twice. Fermentation cold maceration precedes, then the wine is aged for 16 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are updated annually.
Try magnificent Chateau Malmaison 2004, which most fully reveals her bouquet between 2010-2020 years. Due to its high quality in the competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2007 wine was awarded a silver medal.
