The wine is dark plum color with a purple hue.
The wine has a beautiful structure and supple texture. Ripe tannins balance the sweetness of the fruit is good tones and nuances are transmitted silky finish.
In the enchanting bouquet of ripe fruit flavors of wine with expressive intonation cherry and black currant in common with subtle notes of earth, herbs and spices.
Wine is good complements meat dishes and game. It combines wonderfully with cheeses, sausages and pasta.
Chateau Le Caillou owned by the family Giraud-Beliveau. Its vineyards are divided into two sections, occupy seven hectares. One small section located at the top of the plateau Pomerol with thick gravel-clay soils, the other is in the northern part of Pomerol, near the Chateau Molyneux, on sandy-gravel terroir. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The grapes are harvested by hand in the last week of September. For aging wines Chateau only used oak barrels, a third of which is updated every year. Château produces about 3,000 cases of wine annually. Chateau wine has a rich texture and well-integrated tannins. Chateau wines are exceptional value for lovers of Bordeaux wines.
