Reviews of purchase Chateau Le Caillou, Pomerol AOC, 2005
Deep plum-colored wine with a ruby tint.
The taste of wine is excellent fruity sweetness, ripe tannins, supple texture and silky finish.
In the rich aroma of wine tones of black currant, cherry and ripe fruit mixed with hints of spices, herbs and earth.
The wine goes well with meat dishes, game, cheeses, pasta, sausages.
Chateau Le Caillou owned by the family Giraud-Beliveau. Its vineyards are divided into two sections, occupy seven hectares. One small section located at the top of the plateau Pomerol with thick gravel-clay soils, the other is in the northern part of Pomerol, near the Chateau Molyneux, on sandy-gravel terroir. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The grapes are harvested by hand in the last week of September. For aging wines Chateau only used oak barrels, a third of which is updated every year.
