Winery Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste is located on a hill Bages, a few kilometers from the town of Pauillac. Chateau has long enjoyed a solid reputation for superb red wines in the style of Bordeaux Pauillac. Farm owned 36 hectares of vineyards, which are grown mainly Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) with a small addition of Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) in soils of gravel lying on a limestone foundation.
The winery has a common part of the name with the neighboring Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse, this is due to the fact that both the chateau had when that one owner and one territory until 1750 part of the land on the hill Grand Puy was sold to Pierre Ducasse, who began to produce their own wine. Extensive reconstruction of old and dilapidated long cellars Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste was completed in 1982, when Xavier Borie, who owns the Chateau in 1978, released his most successful vintage.
