Interesting Facts
Luxury wine Chateau Grand Corbin admire its richness and depth with the first sip. It is made from a blend of three grape varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the vineyards of the economy. The soil of the vineyard -glina with iron and silicon dioxide. The average age of the vines is 38 years. Crop is harvested by hand, berries are carefully sorted. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled regulators. Maceration lasts about three weeks. Wine is aged 12-14 months in oak barrels. Before bottling the wine passes fining with egg white.
Producer's description
In the Middle Ages Chateau Grand Corbin was an ordinary part of the estate owned by the Black Prince, Edward, the son of the King of England Edward III. The estate was purchased in 1960 by Alain Giraud (Alain Giraud), and after his death in 1982 was transferred to the management of Philippe Giraud. At one time in the XVII century Giraud family owned the famous Chateau Trotanoy economy in Pomerol. In late 2010 Chateau Grand Corbin became the property of the insurance company Groupe SMABTP, which owns numerous estates in Bordeaux, including Chateau Haut Corbin and Le Jurat appellasone in Saint-Emilion and Chateau Cantemerle - in the Haut-Médoc AOC. In 2012, it was decided to combine the Château Grand Corbin and Chateau Haut Corbin, which made it possible to expand the area of 6.4 hectares of vineyards.
