Tasting Notes
Color
Wine deep, rich garnet-purple color.
Taste
The wine has a full, dry flavor with hints of black cherry, chocolate and herbs, dense tannins and a long finish.
Aroma
Wine seduces clean, fruity aroma with notes of red and black fruit, black currant, licorice, toasted oak and earth.
Gastronomy
The wine goes well with a variety of meat dishes - veal or beef grilled, braised lamb, meats and hard cheeses.

For the production of wine Chateau Fougas Maldoror used grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which grow in the vineyards of Côte de Boer. The soil of the vineyard consists of sand, gravel and clay. The average age of the vines - 40 years. Harvesting is carried out only when the berries reach optimum maturity. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. Wine is aged for about 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 1/3 - new. Chateau Fougas Maldoror is located in the Cotes de Bourg appellasone near Saint Emilion. Despite the fact that the estate was built in 1778, until 1976 it hardly functioned. In 1976 he purchased the Chateau Jean-Yves Bechet, known at the time merchant in Bordeaux. Together with his wife, Michelle, he fully unleash the potential of the terroir Cotes de Bourg.
