It is known that in the area of Cussac, Cantal wine produced from the X century, although Beaumont was considered a wine estate with only XIX century. The name is likely derived from the name of Louis de Beaumont, one of the eight military judges, in the XV century, was sentenced to death a certain Pierre de Montferrand. De Montferrand was lord Cussac, Cantal during the Hundred Years War and moved to the side of the British - it is possible that the land traitor selected one of its judges. At the turn of the XIX and XX centuries, the manor was a certain Jean Germain, and under his leadership Château Beaumont flourished. This was followed by a succession of owners, hard times, reducing the area of vineyards and more. Currently, the estate belongs to a group GMF - Grands Millesimes de France. In 1997 he became manager of the estate Priu Etienne, with the advent of wine which is getting better and better.
