In the middle of the XIX century Frederick Mial tried to start making wine through their own efforts, but his premature death did not allow this business to develop. Later, his sons Louis and Edward continued the family business, but in a somewhat different direction, namely engaging in investment in other vineyards of the Medoc and working as mediators.
