Interesting Facts
"Chateau Brane-Kantenak" 2009 - dense, elegant wine of excellent quality, made in classic Bordeaux style. Blend wine consists of four grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a small percentage of Carmenere. Harvesting begins in late September and ends on 10 October. To get the best concentration of wort, and to identify a rich aromatic potential, grape juice has been extracted by vacuum evaporation and drainage. Pre-fermentation (delestazh) in wooden barriques favored the complete extraction of color. Maceration and malolactic fermentation is also carried in wooden barriques. After vinification "Château Brane-Kantenak" aged for 18 months in oak barrels, renewed by 60%.
Château Brane-Kantenak originates in the XVIII century. Originally it was called Chateau Grace after its founder. Long before the 1855 classification of its excellent wines made famous Chateau in France, and far beyond its borders. It is not surprising that the famous winemaker Baron de Bran, called in their circles "Napoleon vine", in 1833 bought a magnificent estate and gave it its name - Chateau Brane-Kantenak. Thanks to the efforts of Baron wine Chateau came to an even higher level and before the First World War, they proudly called "the first of the second", and their price was equal to the wine Premier Grand Cru Classe.
In 1992, the Chateau was inherited by Henri Lurton, who, with the formation of an oenologist, set a goal to not only keep the style of aromatic and at the same time complex, harmonious wines Bran-Kantenaka, but also by introducing new technologies, put the wine in the Chateau on a par with the first Grand Cru Classe.
