Reviews of purchase Cave de Tain, "Grand Classique" Saint-Joseph AOP, 2015
The wine is dark red with purple highlights.
The taste of the wine is surprisingly rich and tannic, has a refreshing acidity, shows abundant amounts of fruit notes and cherries, complemented by nuances of coffee beans, dark chocolate, sandalwood and leather. The finish is long and clear.
Aromatic bouquet of wine is replete with notes of plum and blackberry, nuances of alder, tobacco and sun-warmed land.
Wine will make an excellent pair of dishes with red meat, poultry or cheese cuts.
The line "Grand Classique" is the fault of 5 famous Cru: Crozes Hermitage, Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Peray. They are designed according to the traditional know-how of the Rhone Valley and fully convey the character of each denomination.
Cave de Tain, "Grand Classique" Saint-Joseph AOP - dry red wine with incredible power and refinement. For its production using grape variety Syrah, grown and harvested in the region of Saint-Joseph. The soil of the vineyards is rich in granite patches. Harvesting begins only after strictly controlling the level of maturity of the berries, then it is transported to the winery, where it is pressed. The process of pre-cold maceration takes several days. Further, the wort is subjected to alcoholic fermentation and aging. Extract of wine occurs partly in steel vats, to maintain the purity of the aroma and freshness of fruit notes on the palate, partly in French oak barrels, which adds more clarity to the structure of the wine. Vintage 2015 will be at the peak of its maturity between 2020-2028.
Cave de Tain is a large cooperative of the producers of the northern valley of the Rhone, which has been in operation since 1933. It unites more than 300 farms with a total area of 1000 hectares, which share the common goal of creating quality wines based on vineyards with sustainable farming. Cave de Tain is a pioneer of the field in this direction, taking certain steps back in 2000. Officially, the obligations of its members were formalized in 2007 as the Charter for Sustainable Development, which outlines its fundamental aspects: social, economic and environmental.
Co-operative Cave de Tain is the largest producer of high-quality wine from the variety of Syrah. We can say that this is his specialization. The steep slopes of the Hermitage hill are the ideal growing environment for this variety.
