Wine Castello di Bolgheri, "Varvara", Bolgheri DOC, 2016
Reviews of purchase Castello di Bolgheri, "Varvara", Bolgheri DOC, 2016
Wine rich ruby color.
Taste wine elegant, accurate, abundant, very beverage filled with notes of cherry, raspberry, cocoa and spices, with well integrated tannins, which with age become more soft and flexible.
The aroma of wine is very sweet, with hints of dark berries, bright notes of cherry, spice, nuances of herbs and black pepper.
The wine goes well with meat dishes, meats, cheeses, pates, pasta with meat sauce.
Wine "Varvara" is named in honor of Barbara Baroness Wrangel, wife of Count Ugolino della Gherardesca, grandmother Countess Franca Spalletti Trivelli. First released in 2005, the wine is the result of the desire of winemakers to make wine with more immediate fruit bias. He was called "junior" wine sector, which tends to latitude. But starting with the vintage 2008, many experts agree that it has ceased to be the "second" wine. Of course, it has a less solid tannic structure than the title of like wine "Castello di Bolgheri," but now "Barbarian" can be called a great wine - expressive, not reaching any compromises and do not follow fashion trends in the wine. Vintage 2011 will be at the peak of maturity from 2015 to 2020-2024 year.
The farm, owned by the Castello di Bolgheri, stretches for 130 hectares around the castle, of which 50 hectares are covered by vineyards, and the rest given over to olive grove, different crops and forests.
