Reviews of purchase "Castelgiocondo" Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, 2007, 1.5 L
Deep ruby wine, almost inky.
The taste of wine is perfectly structured, full-bodied, with tangible, but velvety tannins, excellent acidity are balanced, elegant notes of minerals and graphite, long, silky berry aftertaste.
Surprisingly rich, complex flavor of the wine shows tones of wild berries, red currant, cherry, complemented by hints of violets, expressive shades of black pepper, cloves, tobacco leaf, cocoa, roasted coffee beans and vanilla nuances. This delightful palette of flavors emphasize light mineral, fine balsamic notes and nuances of graphite.
This wine can safely be called wine for meditation, it is good in itself, perfectly complement the meat dishes - roast, stew, big game (eg boar), as well as mature, but not too flavorful cheeses.
On the wine label is the image of the commander Gvidorichcho fighting for Siena at the beginning of the XIV century. The picture was painted by the famous painter Simone Martini.
