Producer's description
The company Casarena was founded in 2007 by a married couple, Peter and Karen Dartley, who before they chose the lands of the Mendoza region in Argentina, visited three continents. In the heart of the Perdriel district, they bought out an old factory built in 1937, conducted a complete reconstruction and assembled a team of professionals. The design of the building was preserved and kept in golden color, which is intended to emphasize the essence of the name Casarena - "house of sand."
The winery is joined by 80 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon vines over 80 years old. In addition to them, 240 hectares of a new territory were purchased, which was originally covered by large boulders. Owners of the company Casarena hired local residents to clean the land, which caused numerous jokes from other producers of this region. But, as they say, he laughs best who laughs last. Today the terrains Agrelo and Perdriel have huge potential, and the prices for the plots soared several times. Kasarena focused its attention on the production of premium wines in accordance with the rich traditions of the Mendoza region, using technological innovations.
