Wine Casarena, "Reservado" Malbec, 2013
Reviews of purchase Casarena, "Reservado" Malbec, 2013
The wine is deep, dark purple.
The wine has a dense taste and generous bouquet of shades of black fruits, tobacco, sweet spices and spices. The plush texture harmoniously combines with lactic acidity, combining into a rich, oily aftertaste with noticeable mineral notes in the finale.
The fascinating colors of violets, blackberries, blueberries, liquorice, herbs and mocha in the aroma of wine are supplemented with hints of fresh strawberries, minerals, underbrush and leather.
Wine is served with white and red meat, fried or grilled vegetables, pasta.
Casarena, "Reservado" Malbec is made from selected Malbek grapes from low-yielding areas. In addition, after harvesting the berries are manually sorted twice and then loaded into a press installation. 6-8 days of maceration, the pressed juice conducts in contact with the skins. Fermentation takes place on natural yeast. Malolactic fermentation is replaced by aging in oak barrels, which lasts 12 months.
Casarena, "Reservado" Malbec is a complex wine with numerous subtle nuances.
The company Casarena was founded in 2007 by a married couple, Peter and Karen Dartley, who before they chose the lands of the Mendoza region in Argentina, visited three continents. In the heart of the Perdriel district, they bought out an old factory built in 1937, conducted a complete reconstruction and assembled a team of professionals. The design of the building was preserved and kept in golden color, which is intended to emphasize the essence of the name Casarena - "house of sand."
The winery is joined by 80 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon vines over 80 years old. In addition to them, 240 hectares of a new territory were purchased, which was originally covered by large boulders. Owners of the company Casarena hired local residents to clean the land, which caused numerous jokes from other producers of this region. But, as they say, he laughs best who laughs last. Today the terrains Agrelo and Perdriel have huge potential, and the prices for the plots soared several times. Kasarena focused its attention on the production of premium wines in accordance with the rich traditions of the Mendoza region, using technological innovations.
