Wine Casarena, "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017
Reviews of purchase Casarena, "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017
The wine is dark red.
Pleasant tartness and tannin in the taste of wine are complemented by deep notes of mocha, nuts and oak coffee. Mature acidity gives it clarity and vigor. Black currant notes are the most active and complete a long aftertaste.
The subtle aroma of wine shows shades of figs, black currants, black fruits, dried berries, prunes and liquorice.
The wine is perfectly combined with meat delicacies, game, red meat, hard cheeses, pates, meat pizza.
Line of high-quality wines "Estate" is distinguished by the concentration and complexity that berries reach in the vineyards. Alternation of warm sunny days with cool mountain nights allow to achieve rich fruit palette, soft, elastic texture and bright elegant aftertaste. All wines, with the exception of Sauvignon Blanc, were aged in French oak barrels for 9 months.
For the manufacture of "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are collected manually in plastic boxes of 18 kg. After its sorting and gentle pressing, the squeezed juice is fermented on natural yeast at rather low temperatures to ensure maximum expressiveness of the aroma. The wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation, after which it remains in French oak barrels for aging for 9 months. Depending on the crop, the percentage of used new barrels varies (from 15 to 20%).
The company Casarena was founded in 2007 by a married couple, Peter and Karen Dartley, who before they chose the lands of the Mendoza region in Argentina, visited three continents. In the heart of the Perdriel district, they bought out an old factory built in 1937, conducted a complete reconstruction and assembled a team of professionals. The design of the building was preserved and kept in golden color, which is intended to emphasize the essence of the name Casarena - "house of sand."
The winery is joined by 80 hectares of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon vines over 80 years old. In addition to them, 240 hectares of a new territory were purchased, which was originally covered by large boulders. Owners of the company Casarena hired local residents to clean the land, which caused numerous jokes from other producers of this region. But, as they say, he laughs best who laughs last. Today the terrains Agrelo and Perdriel have huge potential, and the prices for the plots soared several times. Kasarena focused its attention on the production of premium wines in accordance with the rich traditions of the Mendoza region, using technological innovations.
