Reviews of purchase Carmenero VdT, 2004
Wine rich ruby-red color.
The taste of wine is dry, deep, intense, incredibly confident and persistent, with well integrated tannins and excellent balance.
The aroma of wine is concentrated, complex, intense, with notes of ripe fruit, blueberry jam and licorice, graphite shades, chestnut and coconut.
The wine goes well with meat dishes, lamb on the grill.
"Carmenere" from the company Ca 'del Bosco - the only wine in Italy, sold under the name "Carmenere". In Northern Italy Bordeaux variety Carmenere Cabernet Franc has long been considered, and only special investigations initiated by Ca 'del Bosco in 1996, showed the opposite. This fact is reflected on the label - a wolf in sheep's clothing symbolizes the strong and free Carmenere, hiding under the guise of deceptive Cabernet Franc. Since the species is not typical of Lombardy, the wine is classified as a table (VdT).
Grapes for the "Carmenere" going from five vineyards. The average age of the vines is 24 years. Harvested by hand, carefully sorted, destebliruetsya and press. Juice flows into fermentation tanks under the action of gravity. Fermentation lasts 12 days at a temperature gradually passing from 21ºC to 31ºC. Followed by maceration, which occupies 10-11 days. For malolactic fermentation and aging the wine is transferred into small oak barrels, 65% - the new, for a period of about 13 months. After aging wine bottled with innovative system in the absence of oxygen and without agitation to maintain the integrity of the flavor and taste.
