Alvaro Palacios - comes from a prestigious family of wine from Rioja, which could easily occupy a major position in the world-famous family winery - Palacios Remondo. But despite this, he decided to go his own way. Alvaro studied oenology in Bordeaux and had the enviable job in the famous winemaker Jean-Pierre Mueksa in Ch. Pétrus.
Returning to Spain, founded his own winery Alvaro Mediterranean Priorat wine region, south of Barcelona, Tarragona. Together with a respected winemaker René Barbier and several partners they ventured into what was called the "Gratallops Project", the name was chosen in honor of a picturesque village of the Priory, where they produced wine.
