Reviews of purchase Ca' Lojera, Lugana Superiore DOC, 2014
Tasting Notes
The color of the wine is straw-golden.
The taste of wine is intense, persistent and mature, it traces the rounded nuances of yellow peaches, lemon and white almonds. Bright acidity flows into sharp citrus notes at the finish.
The aroma of wine shows shades of white stone fruit and beeswax.
Wine fits well with fried white meat, ripe and blue cheeses, fish soups and risotto.
Interesting Facts
For Ca 'Lojera, Lugana Superiore wines, the second crop was harvested from low-yielding vineyards located in Sirmione (Brescia province). The grapes of the Turbian grapes were collected by hand, the future wine was fermented and aged in 25-gallon oak barrels with regular re-mixing of juice and wort. This technology has provided Ka'Loyer's wine, Lugana Superiore strong and persistent taste in combination with a fruity-waxy aroma.
Producer's description
The Ca 'Lojera Winery is located near Lake Garda and the town of Sirmione. It was founded by the spouses, Franco and Ambra Tyraboski, having bought in 1992 the old winemaking economy. The winery has 18 hectares of vineyards. The Turbian vines grow on their valley part, the Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties cover the slopes of the hills. Annually Ka 'Loiera produces only 120 thousand bottles of wine. They are sold directly to restaurants, wine bars and specialized shops, a small part is exported.
The labels of the winery Ca 'Lauer shows a wolf local legend hero. Residents of the neighborhood claim that in the old days, Garda and the small Frassinet lake were connected by numerous canals. Smugglers on boats sailed from the north and used coastal houses to store goods. Approaches to such houses were guarded by specially trained wolves. The nearby Ca 'Loiera winery has made the image of this animal its own symbol.
