The history of wine-making company Azienda Agricola COS began in 1980, when three young men Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti decided to continue the work of their forefathers and engage in the manufacture of wine. Actually, the name of the company - COS, is an abbreviation of the first letters of the names of its founders (C ilia- O cchipinti- S trano). To begin with, they rented a family run Cilia old winery and vineyards are located around it near the town Bastonaca. And in the autumn of young winemakers gathered the first harvest. In 1985, Cirino Strano, a doctor by training, sold his share of the business to his sister, to devote himself to medicine. In 1995 the entire company into the hands of Giambattista Cilia and Giusto Occhipinti. By this time, the company has significantly expanded its land holdings by acquiring 9 hectares, followed by another 20 hectares of land in the Contrada Fontane-Baucina.
