In the 1830s, the innkeeper August Bullet in Louisville, Kentucky, set out to create a unique flavored bourbon. After countless small-scale trials, he still made it a bourbon that would meet his ideas about the drink. When transporting barrels of bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans in August Bullet and the goods themselves have disappeared. It is still unknown what happened, they have not been found. But after more than a century, in 1987, his great-grandson Tom Bullet decided to revive the legacy of his ancestor. Bulleit Bourbon again began to distill and withstand small batches. Filtered water from Kentucky limestone-rich, provides the basis for this bourbon while aging in charred American oak barrels gives the drink a rich smoky flavor.
