Tasting Notes
Wine of intense ruby color with garnet hue.
Noble, full-bodied on the palate with a fine structure and a long berry aftertaste.
The wine has a rich, complex aroma of ripe black fruit, licorice, subtle mineral nuances and delicate hints of spice.
The wine goes well with red meat, poultry (including birds), seasoned cheeses and traditional dishes of Piedmont cuisine, for example, a hare with pears.
Interesting Facts
Bricco del Uchchellone - a very popular wine, also known as the first wine of the Italian varieties Barbera. The wine has an excellent aging potential and can be subjected to long-term aging. Name of wine (Uccellone) translated literally means "big bird" because the work in the vineyard is often followed by a very tall woman, always dressed in black, she stood on the balcony of his villa and observe the process. This gave the name of the owner of the blame economy Giacomo Bologna.
Company founder Braida, Giacomo Bologna, known primarily by the fact that thanks to him became apparent - Piedmont Barbera variety can serve as a basis for creating the greatest wines in the world. Today Barbera - one of the most common varieties of the region. As the son of a winemaker, Giacomo Bologna created in 1961, a small company in the province of Asti Braida, in Piedmont. By the early 80s the company has already produced three stellar wine: Uchellone, Bricaud della Bigotta and Ai Suma. Thanks to the care of plants and aging in small French barriques, Bologna was able to shake the wine world, creating a rich and complex wines from varieties that were previously considered only subsidiary.
Today the company is successfully managing Anna, widow of Giacomo, and their children Raffaella and Giuseppe.
