The wine is red-pomegranate with a purple tinge.
The taste of wine is juicy, structured, distinctly mineral, with expressive notes of blackberry and currant, nuances of nougat. A long tannic aftertaste is decorated with light strokes of lemon.
The exquisite, complex aroma of wine is full of shades of black berries, nuances of black cherry and tobacco accents. The bouquet is complemented by spicy notes and accents of chocolate.
The wine is ideally combined with beef, lamb, game dishes. It can be served with grilled vegetables, as well as vegetable purees and hot snacks.
Red dry wine Birgit Braunstein, Blaufrankisch Leithaberg DAC creates a biodynamic method from the Blaufrankisch variety grown in Burgenland. Limestone rocks predominate in the soils of the vineyard, which ensures expressive minerality for the future of the wine. In the process of vinification the wort is fermented for 8 weeks and is aged for 20 months in 500-liter oak barrels. Blaufrankish Leitaberg is an elegant, well-structured wine with a deep taste and rich berry flavor.
Birgit Braunstein is an Austrian winery in Burgenland, which managed to win the recognition of wine connoisseurs not only in Austria but also abroad. In 2005, the current owner of the winery, in honor of which the company was named, received the title "Winemaker of the Year". Birgit refers to the cause of his life, not just with love, but with real passion and dedication, showing love for nature and even resigning to her strength and greatness. Having obtained a winery as an inheritance from his father, today she manifests herself both as a creator of wines and as a manager.
The vineyards of the Birgit Braunstein farm extend along the Laitagebirge. Rich in shale, limestone and quartz, soils provide an ideal base for creating exquisite terroir wines. Warm winds from the lake Neusiedler-Ze, give future wines a special maturity, and the fresh cool night air of this climatic zone guarantees their sonority, sophistication and lively character. The total area of the vineyards is 22 hectares. Annually about 100,000 bottles of wine are produced. The farm uses biodynamic methods of viticulture.
