Tasting Notes
Whiskey dark amber.
Base notes of taste whiskey - peat, oak and butter toffee - to give an amazing mixture of bitter sweetness. The rich silky finish - iris and caramel shades mokkachino and dark chocolate.
The aroma of whiskey fresh and quite dry. For a rich mixture of fruit and herbal notes of orange shades are attached, marmalade and nuts.
Whiskey blends well with a cigar, coffee, great as a digestif.
Interesting Facts
Founded in 1825 by John MacDonald, Ben Nevis plant over a hundred years - until 1941 - has remained a family business. In 1941 he bought the distillery eccentric Canadian Joseph Hobbs, who has owned several distilleries. He established a unit here Coffey - continuously working distiller, which is used for making rum and grain whiskeys. In 1971, the Ben Nevis distillery returned to the production of only malt whiskey. From 1986 to 1989, the plant was closed. In 1989, it acquired the famous Japanese company Nikka, which greatly expanded the range of products, without losing control of high-quality whiskey. Whiskey "Ben Nevis" 10 Years Old was first introduced to the market in 1996 and immediately became a leader among single malts. Whisky was awarded the Grand Gold Medals at the "Monde Selection 1999" and "Monde Selection 2000", a silver medal at the "Monde Selection 2003".
