Vinogradaniki House Hofstatter occupy the best sites on the banks of the river Aidzhe; grapes grown exclusively in a natural way, winemakers Hofstatter use only organic fertilizers, thus expressing respect for the soil and plants. Through this approach, are exclusively the grapes from which produced high-quality wines.
The grapes for "Barthenau Vigna S.Michele" grows in Barthenau at 450 meters above sea level. The ideal location of the vineyard on a hill with an optimum amount of sunlight and good aeration allows the grapes to ripen to perfection. Warm days and fresh nights are the guarantors of high acidity and, therefore, the possibility of future long-term aging of wine. The soils are composed of clay, limestone, porphyry and gravel. After cold maceration of grapes for several hours to enhance the softness and fruity notes, the wine is placed for fermentation in large oak barrels at a controlled temperature. Aging "Barthenau Vigna S.Michele" aged in 3000 liter oak barrels for 12 months, then bottled and aged an additional 6 months.
