Wine of deep ruby red color.
Full-bodied, elegant, well-structured wine gives a powerful, full-bodied and rich fruity taste with a soft, silky tannins and a long finish with vanilla intonations.
Elegant bouquet reveals intense aromas of wild berries framed notes of underbrush and rose petals that are in the process of aeration complemented by tones of truffles and leather.

"Ornato" - is a wine of excellent quality with great potential for aging. The wine is produced every year, but only during exceptional vintages and in limited quantities. Yields are from three small vineyards in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba, owned by Pio Cesare, who are among the best. Maceration and fermentation occur in stainless steel tanks under constant temperature control for 15 days. Then the wine is kept 36 months in new barrels made of French oak of medium roast (partly in barriques - 70%, partly in barrels of 25 hl). Storage capacity Barolo "ornata" is not less than 30 years.
Pio Cesare winery was founded in 1881. Before that, there were stables, dating back to the Middle Ages, so in its territory felt the breath of history, you can see the ruins of ancient Roman buildings and defensive walls. Pio Cesare - is one of the first winemakers in Piedmont, the export of wine abroad. The farm is located near Alba in an area of 50 hectares.
