Interesting Facts
To create wine "Arartuni", Red Dry winemakers use grape varieties Haghtanak and Kakhet, growing in vineyards located in Aragatsotn and with a western exposure. The vineyards are located in mountainous areas with a significant elevation difference in the range of 950-4090 m above sea level. The microclimate of the region directly depends on the altitude above sea level. High in the mountains, winter is almost all year round, and on the plain there is a dry and long summer. Haghtanak gives the wine shades of dark berries, chocolate-pepper and coffee accents, and Kakhet gives it a delicate aroma. Before bottling, wine "Arartuni", Red dry is aged in oak barrels (225 l) from local oak for 6 months. The label depicts a golden rhyton, a traditional vessel for drinking wine.
The Arartuni brand is named after a dynasty of ruling kings from the state of Urartu. The period of their rule on the territory of the Armenian Highlands dates back to 860-590 BC.
