Its name is dry red wine "Arartuni", Argishti received in honor of Argishti I - the great king of the Arartuni Dynasty from the state of Urartu. Thanks to his reign from 786 to 764 BC. the state has reached the zenith of its power and significantly expanded its borders.
To create wine, winemakers use the grape varieties Haghtanak and Kakhet, growing in vineyards located in Aragatsotn and having a western exposure. The vineyards are located in mountainous areas with a significant elevation difference in the range of 950-4090 m above sea level. The microclimate of the region directly depends on the altitude above sea level. High in the mountains, winter is almost all year round, and on the plain there is a dry and long summer. Haghtanak gives the wine shades of dark berries, chocolate-pepper and coffee accents, and Kakhet gives it a delicate aroma. Before bottling the wine "Arartuni", Argishti is aged in oak barrels (225 l) from local oak for 6 months.
