Wine Arabarte, "Zhivago" White, Rioja DOCa, 2014
Reviews of purchase Arabarte, "Zhivago" White, Rioja DOCa, 2014
The wine is straw-yellow.
The taste of wine is well-structured, fruity, fresh, with a light sweetness that imparts refinement and harmony to wine.
Beautiful, elegant aroma of wine is made up of delicate shades of tropical fruits (pineapple, papaya, mango, banana), notes of citrus and white flowers.
Wine is recommended to combine with different cheeses, sea fish and seafood.
White dry wine "Zhivago" is made from the grape variety of Viura, grown in Rioja. The soil of the vineyards consists of clay and limestone. This type of soil is ideal for growing Tempranillo and Viura - the flagships of the wine growing potential of Arabarte. The collected grapes are sent for maceration, followed by a gentle squeezing of the juice. Then a mixture of grape skins and pits (must) is subjected to careful pressing in order to enhance the intensity of the flavor of the future wine. Alcohol fermentation, which takes place in steel tankers at a controlled low temperature, begins after the stabilization and sedimentation of the sediment. At the end of fermentation, the wine is removed from the sediment, returned to the tankers, where it "rests" for 1-2 months and then bottled.
The Arabarte winery received the official status of the company on April 15, 1997. However, the history of its creation dates back to the time when the ancestors of the founders, five families from the Rioja Alavesa, the Basque country, owning the best vineyards of the region, decided to stop selling grapevines to outside wineries and start producing their own wine. For aging wine they used a small cellar in Samaniego, a small town that is located several kilometers from today's Arabarte location. Wine obtained in Samaniego, for many years, supplied many important wine companies of Rioja, until the winemakers finally decided to independently spill and market their product under the brand name "Arabarte". The brand name is derived from the words "Araba" (province "Alava" in Basque) and "Arte" ("art" in Spanish), which together gives "The Art of Alava Wine".
Initially, the company produced only young wines (vino de año), very popular in this part of the Rioja, but the winery's affairs went so well that the owners decided to expand the line. So in the company's portfolio there were wines of the category Crianza, Reserva, Grande Reserva and Signature. At the disposal of the winery is more than 80 hectares of vineyards, concentrated in Rioja Alavesa. This number includes both the company's own plots, and the vineyards of the shareholders, and the vineyards leased. Today, Arabarth is widely represented not only in the local market, but also in stores of almost all continents.
