Interesting Facts
Antiche Terre Venete, Valpolicella Superiore is an elegant semi-dry wine made from a blend of grape varieties Corvina, Korvinone and Rondinella grown in the Valpolicella region. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September and gently pressed. Fermentation and maceration lasts eight days at a temperature of about 25 ° C, which gives the wine a fresh, fruity character. Then the wine is decanted and separated from the grape skin and left for the winter in stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation is completed. After a year of aging in steel vats (90%) and oak barrels (10%), the drink is bottled. Under the right conditions, Valpolicella Superiore can be beautifully stored for 5-8 years.
Producer's description
The history of the winery Antiche Terre Venete - one of those unique stories that are obtained when the true passion is combined with work. This story began in the 1900s. Vittorio Sancassasi, the founder of the winery's love of the land, proved so strong that he devoted all his time and energy to growing grapes and olive trees. He wanted to do something in the land of the beautiful town of Valpanthena, less well known, but as rich and generous as the neighboring Valpolicella. Passion Vittorio passed on to his son Sergio and nephew Luciano. Returning from China, Luciano begins to work with Sergio, combining Italian winemaking traditions and world advanced technologies. The vineyards of Antike Terre Venete are located in a wide valley in the region of Cesano, near Verona. Today, Antique Terre Venete produces 1.6 million bottles of wine a year.
