In 1941, Modesto Alvarez Romero and Eladio Díez Ossorio founded the winery Alvarez y Díez . The name of the winery is the names of its founders. For many years, the company adhered to traditional methods of vinification, creating wines of excellent quality. In 1977, the company began to manage Enrique H. de Benito. With his arrival, a deep restructuring begins, based on a change in the philosophy of business. The plant was completely modernized equipment.
In 1992, Enrique's son, Juan de Benito, became the director of the company, and in 2001, Enrique's youngest son, Alvaro, joined the family business. Alvaro began to lead the commercial and export departments, developing expansion and marketing strategies for the future winery.
