Alpha Box & Dice (Viottolo Pty) is located in the McLaren Valley of South Australia. Founded in 2008 by Justin Lane, it has become a leader among alternative wines, demonstrating innovation at every stage of production, departing from the traditional standards of winemaking. The chief winemaker, Sam Burket, came to the firm with his own philosophy. Studying chemistry at the institute, he could not find an interesting application for this occupation. Having tried himself in several industries, Sam settled on winemaking. His methods are aimed at finding unique subtle connections and revealing all the nuances between the vineyard and the variety.
Without their own vineyards, Alpha Box & Dice produce wines from 29 different grape varieties. This is where the "Wine Alphabet" is created. Each wine is unique - not a single letter has been used twice, except K it & K aboodle - there is red and white. On the bottle label is a letter that matches the style of the drink.
