Name Al Poggio literally translates as "hill", "hill." "Al Poggio" is the result of 20 years of research and experiments carried out with a single purpose - to produce a wine that would exalt varietal characteristics and excellent Chardonnay would reflect the terroir economy. The first vineyards were planted with Chardonnay in the area of Poggio in the period from 1967 to 1975 on the territory of 6 hectares. Harvest for wine production, "Al Poggio" 2009 was collected in the period from 30 August to 1 September. Berries packed in small boxes (each is 12 kg of grapes), so that the grapes were in perfect condition when it was taken to the cellars. In the production of "Al Poggio" alcoholic fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel vats, partly in barriques, half of which - new, half - one year of use. Wine fermented in barriques passes short maceration for 12 hours. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation 55% of the wine malolactic fermentation takes place. Extract of wine takes place in 8 months in oak barrels. The wine was bottled in May 2010.
